Understanding Your Massage Table Options
Friday, October 19th, 2007
Do I need rounded corners on my table?
Most professionals do not choose to customize their Massage Tables with rounded corners. Although this option makes for a slightly friendlier working environment the deluxe padding provided on Custom Craftworks Massage Tables provides enough “protection” when working around the edges of the bed.
Should I customize my order to include extra padding?
Many massage professionals will upgrade their table with extra padding to provide more comfort for their client and a softer rebounding surface for their massage technique. Although most professionals prefer more padding there are massage therapists who favor working with a firmer bed. If you’re still unsure about whether to choose more padding with your order we encourage you to give us a call.
What is Touch Response Foam?
The Touch Response Foam System is exclusive to Custom Craftworks and offers a 4-layered foam design for extra comfort and support. The foam conforms to the natural contours of your client’s body.
Should I choose the breast recesses option for my female clients? What’s the Prenatal option?
Breast recesses do in fact make the massage experience much more comfortable and relaxing for women. The Prenatal option provides your pregnant clients with the most comfortable massage experience possible with adjustable room for their growing belly. Choosing these options is a great consideration for your female clients. When you don’t need them you simply fill in the gaps with the provided plugs.
What are Easy Access endplates? Do I need them?
Chances are if you don’t know what Easy Access endplates are you won’t need them. Massage therapists who perform Reiki require extra leg clearance underneath the head and foot of the table to support their massage position. While this makes the Reiki technique possible for them we do not recommend that non-Reiki massage therapists choose this option as it makes the Massage Table less stable. Easy Access endplates are only available with the standard height range.
How important are arm rests?
The purpose of arms rests is to provide extra comfort for the massage recipient. Arm rests are extremely popular accessory that get the client’s arms off the table and in a comfortable position below their head. Although arm rests may help the therapist in delivering shoulder massage their primary purpose is to enhance the recipient’s experience.
What accessories do I need?
Many customers add essential accessories to their order so that they have everything they need to get started right away. We recommend a headrest for your clients comfort and sheets to extend the warmth and longevity of your massage table. Other popular accessories include bolsters, arm rests, fleece pads and flannel sheets.
